What’s your “nombre”?

What’s your “nombre”?

Choosing the right name for your startup is critically important

I would even say central or “medular” (Spanish), since it is connected to almost everything in your product or service. Many great people say that the product design is the product itself, and how it will work. Well, your name, mainly for a web service, is your main design feat. This is why choosing a name has been so painful for us. And it would make sense also for any startup. Since it is a new product, the uncertainty is high, and you don’t know for sure what will be the final form of the product, or your target market, once you will reach product-market fit.
The name I always thought about was CrowdTransfer.com which for a lot English-speakers familiar with the tech world is very straightforward and self-explanatory to some extent. And best of all, I bought the .com domain which was available. However, that is not necessarily the case with Spanish-speaking non tech-savvy people.  Many people think it is CrownTransfer, CrossTransfer, or something else.
That’s why I’m thinking about changing the domain to something shorter and better adoption in Spanish speaking countries.
The other options I’m thinking about are:
·          Kambio
·          Kambiando
·          Transfair
·          CrossTransfer
·          MoneyPeer (Too MoneyGram and PayPal resembling)
None of them convince me very well. Nor their .com   domains are available. I have learnt that for a company that deals with people’s money, a serious .com domain is important, as well as a serious name. Looking for some alternatives and trying to understand the thought process to come up with a new name, I found these links:

We will iterate through this process but … we might stick with the original name and force people to learn English.
